This award-winning resort offers a tranquil atmosphere and a host of exciting activities. Stunning views of Champagne Castle, Cathkin Peak and Monk’s Cowl are enjoyed from the units, which overlook the golf course. In summer, the beautiful surrounds are a great setting for outdoor activities and fun with the kids. A children’s entertainment programme provides hours of amusement during peak season and parents can relax and enjoy pampering at the wellness centre. There are a number of interesting attractions in the area, including historical sites, cultural activities and beautiful arts and crafts, from rustic local offerings to internationally renowned. About the resort: The resort situated in the Central Drakensberg boasts its own 18 hole Golf Course designed by Hugh Baiocchi ranking in the top forty of courses in SA. The elevated golf club house overlooks the second highest peaks in SA comfortably viewing the 1st, 9th, 10th & 18th holes with a full refurbishment of the clubhouse taken place in July 2018. There is no driving range, however a warm up golf facility is available and two practice putting greens. Additional facilities include : putt-putt, six rink bowling green, 5 tennis courts, sand volleyball, basketball court, 5 swimming pools [none heated], circuit gym, 4km walk, run or cycle track, Spa with four treatment rooms, Chapel with Sunday services. For the children aged 1 year to 12 years : Little Explorers Play Area with inside and outside enclosed facilities totaling 440 sq meters. Open 09:00 to 20:00 For the tweens and teenagers 13years and up : Game On! - Area inside for the Family, with pool tables, table tennis, foozeball, air-hockey, X-box and PlayStation. There are three outside playground areas with swings, climbing frames and trampolines at various places within the Resort. Attractions: The following facilities all within a comfortable 20minute maximum drive or less from the Resort : Drakensberg Boys Choir every Wednesday in school terms at their auditorium unless on organised tours, Falcon Ridge Bird Show [a must see] weather dependent as outside only closed Friday’s and Monday’s, Canopy Tours with 12 slides totaling 1500m, Scootours 5.4km downhill descent on Monster Mountain Scooter, Four River Rafting Outside Adventure, Helicopter Tours, Ballooning, Cathin Trail Cycle Track 20kms, Drakensberg Pure Mountain Brewery, Chocolate Tasting, Valley Bakery & Cafe, Rug Factories, Waffle Hut, Arts, Crafts, Historical Guides, horse-riding, mountain walks & trails.
